In a letter to Mr. Egbert, 1904 June 12, Beard relates in detail why he is turning down an invitation to speak at Egbert's club. In a letter to Arthur N. Hosking, ca. 1905, Beard sends autobiographical information to be used in "The artist's yearbook." In a letter to Henry Ware Allen, 1934 July 7, he discusses his illustrations of Mark Twain's "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court."
